Service of process in San Tan Valley follows Arizona Rule 4.1. This is a Pinal County community — justice court matters go to San Tan Justice Court, superior court to Florence.
Assignment basics
Nothing here guarantees a service outcome; results depend on the defendant, the address, and the court's requirements.
Geography
San Tan Valley has no city government; county services and courts apply directly.
The area covers a large block of Pinal County east of Queen Creek, built out through Johnson Ranch, Copper Basin, Encanterra and Circle Cross Ranch. Because it is unincorporated, there is no municipal police department or city court — the Pinal County Sheriff and the justice court precinct handle the area.
No city hall, no municipal court; county government applies.
Large HOA communities with gate and front-desk protocols.
The justice court precinct covers the whole valley.
Procedure
Arizona service of process is governed by the Arizona Rules of Civil Procedure, not by the city.
A summons is served under Rule 4 by a sheriff, constable, or any person over 18 who is not a party, and proof of service is filed with the court. Service of later documents follows Rule 5, which permits service on the party’s attorney once an appearance has been filed.
Where direct service fails, a party can move for alternative service under Rule 4.1 by showing the attempts already made. That motion depends on documented dates, times and observations, so every attempt is logged as it happens rather than reconstructed later.
Summons service and the required return of service.
Later documents after an appearance has been filed.
Alternative service motions rest on documented attempts.
Licensed servers. Court-ready documentation for Pinal County courts.
