Statewide Utah coordination

Process server in Utah

Utah’s population sits in a narrow corridor, and service is planned accordingly: dense along the Wasatch Front, long-legged in the southern counties.

Assignment basics

Can you serve these documents?
Summons and complaints, subpoenas, eviction notices, family court filings, protective orders, and post-judgment enforcement documents. See document categories
Do you cover my service location?

How quickly can the assignment begin?
Assignments are opened after intake review. Rush and emergency coordination are available and confirmed when the assignment is accepted.
What will it cost?
Quotes are based on jurisdiction, access complexity, time sensitivity, defendant difficulty, and documentation requirements. How pricing works
What do I need to provide?
Service address, defendant name and type, case and court information, any deadline, and the documents to be served.
How do I get started?
Submit the request online — it takes a few minutes and documents can be attached — or call and we will open it with you.

Nothing here guarantees a service outcome; results depend on the defendant, the address, and the court's requirements.

Jurisdiction

What Utah service requires

Utah sets who may serve, how process is delivered, and what the return has to show. The venue named in the filing decides how that record is read.

Who may serve. Rule 4 allows service by the sheriff or by any person eighteen or older who is not a party to the action.

Method. Personal delivery, or delivery at the defendant’s dwelling to a resident of suitable age and discretion. Service by mail with acknowledgment is available under the rule.

Proof. The server files proof of service stating the facts. Utah courts expect the address and the recipient to be identified, not summarized.

One corridor, two speeds

Salt Lake and Utah counties run on rapid commercial schedules. Southern Utah runs on distance and seasonal population swings.

Execution

How an Utah assignment runs

One protocol, adjusted for the court, the address type and the defendant.

  1. Intake

Case details, defendant information, service address, and documents are captured in one request.

  2. Jurisdiction routing

The assignment is matched to the venue, county, and precinct responsible for that address.

  3. Attempts & logs

Each attempt is recorded: date, time, address description, access conditions, and contact outcome.

  4. Escalation

Where personal service fails, substitute service or a diligence record for alternative service is prepared.

  5. Proof delivered

When service is completed, a signed, sworn affidavit of service documents the applicable recipient, date, time, location and method of service. When service is unsuccessful, a signed, sworn affidavit of non-service or due diligence documents the attempts, circumstances, findings and unsuccessful outcome. Both are executed under penalty of perjury and prepared in accordance with the applicable jurisdiction's execution and filing requirements.
