Send the documents, the service address and the deadline. This section covers what we need, what changes the price, and what you receive when the assignment closes. Dispatch options are set out under Service Options below.
What to send. The documents to be served, the service address with any unit or suite, the defendant name and type, the court named on the filing, and the date you need service completed by.
What affects the quote. Address type and access — high-rise, concierge, gated or business — how urgent the assignment is, how many attempts it takes, and the proof format the issuing court expects. Pricing is confirmed before dispatch.
How priority is chosen. Standard, Rush and Emergency are selected when you open the assignment and confirmed at intake. Each option is described in full under Service Options below.
How attempts are documented. Every attempt is recorded with the date, time, address description, access conditions and outcome, including each attempt where no contact was made.
What happens after intake. We review the court named on your documents, the service address, the document type and any service instructions. Scope, pricing and available scheduling are confirmed before anything is dispatched, and no attempt is made until you accept the assignment.
Court and address reviewed first
The court named on your documents and the service address are reviewed together. Nothing is dispatched until scope, pricing and scheduling are confirmed.Ongoing law-firm and high-volume assignments
Recurring volume, standing instructions and consolidated invoicing are handled by phone rather than through the request form.
Service options
The documentation standard is the same at every option. What changes is dispatch priority and how quickly coordination begins.
Documented multi-attempt service with a filing-ready affidavit.
Priority dispatch and accelerated attempt scheduling.
Immediate coordination for time-critical court deadlines.
Dispatch timing does not guarantee completion. Completion depends on defendant access, address conditions, and the requirements of the issuing court. How pricing is determined
Service conditions
Phoenix covers roughly 517 square miles, and the approach changes with the address rather than the distance from downtown.
A tower in the downtown core, an apartment building in Midtown, a master-planned community in North Phoenix and a business park near Deer Valley are four different access problems, and the papers still have to reach a person at each one.
Difficulty does not track distance from downtown. A gated address in North Phoenix can take more coordination than an open commercial address in South Mountain, and an apartment complex along the central corridor can present more barriers than an unincorporated address in Laveen. Every attempt records what the server met at the door, the gate or the front desk.
Downtown and Midtown high-rise access
Lobby hours, elevator control and tenant notification rules decide when a tower address can be worked. Access conditions are recorded per attempt so the history is part of the file.
Concierge and security-controlled buildings
Front-desk verification, call-box procedures and building management contacts are established before the attempt, and any refusal is logged with the reason given.
Gated communities in North Phoenix
Entry procedure is worked out in advance, and every denied or delayed entry is recorded at the gate rather than summarised later.
Apartment and multi-unit properties
Unit and resident verification comes before a copy is left with anyone other than the defendant, so the record describes a real recipient.
Evasive defendants and documented attempts
Attempt times and days are varied, skip-trace coordination is available, and the attempt history is built so it can support a substitute or alternative service request later.
Business and statutory-agent service
Corporate addresses require identifying the legal entity and a recipient the rules authorize, then documenting the path used to reach that person on site.
Different access conditions across Phoenix
Routing starts with the address classification — residential, apartment, business, restricted access — because that classification decides how the attempt is planned and what the record has to show.
Business service needs the right entity and an authorized recipient
Service on a business turns on identifying the correct legal entity and a recipient authorized under the applicable service rules. Statutory-agent records can be checked with the Arizona Corporation Commission where relevant. A receptionist, employee or manager is not automatically authorized to accept service on behalf of a business.Neighborhoods
Each submarket has its own building density, access pattern and street layout. These pages describe the area you are serving into.
Courts
The court named on your documents and the applicable venue requirements are reviewed alongside the service address, not instead of it.
Phoenix Municipal Court
Phoenix Municipal Court handles criminal misdemeanors, civil traffic matters and certain protective-order matters. Ordinary civil lawsuits are handled by the appropriate justice or superior court.
Maricopa County Superior Court
Maricopa County Superior Court handles civil, family, probate and other matters across multiple court facilities. The Central Court Building is located at 201 W. Jefferson St. in Phoenix. The issuing court and applicable location are confirmed from the case documents.
Maricopa County Justice Courts
No single precinct covers every Phoenix address. Where the filing names a justice court, the precinct on the documents is confirmed against the service address before the first attempt.
No single precinct covers every Phoenix address. The courts below are the precincts that appear on Phoenix and border-area filings. A courthouse’s street address is not the same as the legal geographic boundaries of its precinct, so a Phoenix address is not assigned to a precinct by the location of a courthouse or by the neighborhood it sits in. The precinct is confirmed from the filing and the applicable official precinct map.
Court hours, calendars and filing information from the city.
Divisions, facilities and court locations for civil, family and probate matters.
Service areas are confirmed against the county’s own precinct maps.
The issuing court, the case type and the service location are three different things. The court named on the filing decides how the proof is prepared; the service address is where the documents are delivered. An address on its own does not establish legal venue.
Process
From your request to documented results, the same sequence applies. The final document depends on whether service is completed.
Documents to be served, the service address with any unit or suite, the defendant name and type, the court named on the filing, and your deadline.
The court, the address and the documents are reviewed, and you are given scope, pricing and available scheduling before any attempt is made.
Each attempt is recorded with date, time, address description, access conditions and outcome, including attempts where no contact was made.
When service is completed, a signed, sworn affidavit of service documents the applicable recipient, date, time, location and method of service. When service is unsuccessful, a signed, sworn affidavit of non-service or due diligence documents the attempts, circumstances, findings and unsuccessful outcome. Both are executed under penalty of perjury and prepared in accordance with the applicable jurisdiction's execution and filing requirements.
Alternative service needs court authorization
Where personal service does not succeed, the rules may allow substitute or alternative service. It is not used until the rules and the issuing court authorize it; where an order is required, service proceeds under that method only after the court grants it.Resources
